More about our Mission and Values

Our Vision

We envision a world where all human life is valued and protected, and women and men have support to choose life.

Our Values Statement
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County provides a caring network of support for women, men and children by following life-affirming values throughout every aspect of care:
  • Integrity: Care Net considers integrity to be a pillar of the ministry. In all actions we vow to be truthful, speaking truth to our clients, our mission partners and each other. Each relies upon us to act with the highest degree of ethics.
May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. Psalm 25:20-22
  • Prayerful: Our first step is to seek God. In thanksgiving and at crossroads we seek His wisdom and guidance. A Christ-centered approach will prevail in the services we provide. Prayer is the pathway that draws us closer to God.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this. Psalm 37:5
  • Compassion: Care Net often serves people facing difficult circumstances. We are a source of compassion – forgiveness, understanding and love. Serving with compassion builds trusting relationships with our clients.
The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness Exodus 34:5-7
  • Professional: Our services are rendered in a professional manner such that clients are treated with respect and continue to view Care Net as a resource for healing body, mind and spirit.
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, Ephesians 6:6-8
  • Hopeful: In order for change to occur in the lives of our clients, hope must exist. Care Net is a source of hope – for change, for healing, for faith, and for life.
Guide me in your truth and teach me for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-6
  • Christ-honoring: It is our desire that our words and actions are honoring to Christ, thus life-changing for our clients and community.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
  • Statement of Faith
    • We believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
    • We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
    • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death for the sins of all mankind and resurrection.
    • We believe Jesus Christ will personally return to earth in power and in glory.
    • We believe justification through faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men.
    • We believe God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
    • We believe the church is the body of Christ, comprised of all those who through faith in Christ have been regenerated by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Our mission as part of the church is to participate in worldwide evangelization and the nurture and discipling of Christians.
    • We believe all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. As well, we believe and affirm God’s calling upon us commands that we make special efforts to protect the most vulnerable, and therefore work to protect and defend life’s early stages.
    • We believe God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one biological man and one biological woman, and intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.
    • We recognize that abstinence is the only biblically acceptable sexual lifestyle outside the bonds of marriage. We will not engage in fornication or adultery. We will follow the biblical admonition to flee temptation and to avoid even the appearance of evil that could cause another to stumble.
    • We believe every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.

    Statement of Principles
  • Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County (“Care Net”) is an outreach of Jesus Christ through His Church. Therefore, Care Net, embodied in its volunteers, is committed to presenting both in word and deed the gospel of our Lord to women and men with crisis pregnancies. Commensurate with this purpose, those who labor as Care Net board members, directors, staff and volunteers must know Christ as their Savior and Lord.
  • Care Net is committed to adopting and enforcing internal procedures to assure that abortion education is performed in a caring and compassionate manner with due respect for the emotional sensibilities of each patient. Prior to usage by the clinic, patient materials containing descriptions of abortion will be reviewed by a qualified medical professional (ex: physician, nurse) and determined to be medically accurate. Materials with graphic depictions of abortion or its results are not content appropriate as the primary effect of such materials is to shock rather than to educate. No patient will ever be asked, pressured or coerced to view abortion education materials which she or he has indicated a desire not to see.
  • Care Net is committed to assisting women to carry to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. With appropriate referrals and support, women and men may face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their babies.
  • Care Net does not discriminate in providing service to anyone on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religious creed, national origin, sexual orientation, physical disability, HIV/AIDS status, mental disability, medical condition, age or marital status.
  • Care Net never advises, provides, or refers for abortion or abortifacients.
  • Care Net offers assistance free of charge at all times.
  • Care Net is committed to creating an awareness within the local community of the needs of pregnant women and of the fact that abortion does not solve problems; it compounds them.
  • Care Net does not engage in contraceptive counseling or in referring for contraceptives or contraceptive services.
  • Care Net recognizes the validity of adoption as one alternative to abortion, but is not biased toward adoption when compared to other life-saving alternatives. The Center is independent of adoption agencies, relating to them in the same manner as to other helpful referral sources. Care Net receives no payments of any kind from these agencies, does not enter into contractual relationships with them, and does not share combined office space. Adoption agencies are not established under the auspices of centers. Care Net neither initiates nor facilities independent adoptions.
  • Care Net is committed to integrity in dealing with those seeking services, earning their trust, providing promised information and services, and eschewing any form of deception in its corporate advertising or individual conversation.
  • Care Net is against any and all violent forms of opposition to abortion. We believe all our actions must stem from the LOVE of Christ, working through us.
  • Because the Bible teaches we are to love all people, including those who may not love us, the staff and volunteers, including the Board of Directors of Care Net, make it a policy never to speak, directly of indirectly, about a specific abortion clinic, abortionist, or any staff person of any clinic while counseling a client and/or representing Care Net in any way.
  • “I was nervous and scared…and then I walked into your clinic. I could never truly say what your patience and thorough explanations really meant to me...You can be sure our little one will know about you.”
    - client from our clinic

"There are no words to describe how your support helped me at the scariest moment in my life. Because of you.. I have a chance to raise my child in a healthy home and family."
    - resident of The Elizabeth House

    Being Dad

Being Dad is a program designed to equip men to become engaged and involved fathers. Our fatherhood coordinator meets one on one to help Dad's develop the skills to become the father their child needs.

    LifeWise Education

Medical professionals share risks associated with sexual choices and teach the skills needed for healthy relationships and establishing boundaries. Patients receiving STI testing have an opportunity to re-examine their lifestyle. We partner with local schools to offer STI education to middle and high school students to help them make informed and safe life choices.

    The Elizabeth House

The Elizabeth House provides a safe home where pregnant women can live free of charge in a structured, goal-oriented program designed to help them become self-sufficient and healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Our maternity home is a member of the National Maternity Housing Coalition. Women who are homeless, nearly homeless, or living in unsafe or insecure housing can make a new start. Young, single women develop the necessary skills to achieve spiritual, mental, physical and economic success – impacting generations to come.
