Who We Are

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County is a 501(c)(3) faith-based charitable organization dedicated to helping women and men facing an unexpected pregnancy. By providing physical, emotional and spiritual resources we transform their fear into confidence and equip them with the information, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to share the love of Christ and affirm the sanctity of human life by coming alongside those at risk of, or impacted by, an unexpected pregnancy with physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

We envision a world where all human life is valued and protected, women and men have support to choose life when facing an unexpected pregnancy, and individuals are empowered to experience the fullness of God’s plan for healthy sexual relations.

What We Offer

Medical Services

Our nationally accredited medical clinic is a member of the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics and offers the following medical services at no charge to women seeking our services:

  • Pregnancy testing and verification
  • Medically indicated obstetric ultrasound
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections

Our mobile clinic goes directly into underserved areas to combat health disparities and transportation barriers. Our clinic service area includes East and West Madison, Fitchburg, Wisconsin Dells, and Janesville. We do not offer, recommend or refer women for abortions or abortifacients. We are here to provide nonjudgmental care and present truthful information about all options and resources available.

Maternity Home

The Elizabeth House provides a safe home where pregnant women can live free of charge in a structured, goal-oriented program designed to help them become self-sufficient and healthy in body, mind, and spirit. We provide the support they need to grow into the women and mothers God has called them to be.

Women who are homeless, nearly homeless, or living in unsafe or insecure housing can make a new start. Young, single women develop the necessary skills to achieve spiritual, mental, physical, and economic success—impacting generations to come. Our maternity home is located in Madison, Wisconsin, and is a member of the National Maternity Housing Coalition.

Education

Our education program offers classes on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, infant safety, and parenting. Both group and one-on-one classes are offered. Our incentive program encourages participation by providing vouchers that can be used to purchase baby clothing and supplies in our Beginnings Boutique, thanks to donations provided by the community.

In addition, we offer post-abortion recovery support.

LifeWise Education

Medical professionals share risks associated with sexual choices and teach the skills needed for healthy relationships and establishing boundaries. Patients receiving STI testing have an opportunity to re-examine their lifestyles. We partner with local schools to offer STI education to middle and high school students to help them make informed and safe life choices.

Eagle Harbor Apartments

In 2014, we moved beyond pregnancy-related housing with the construction of Eagle Harbor Apartments. Thanks to a generous donation of land adjacent to the Care Net main office, as well as tax credit financing and the collaborative efforts of many in the community, Eagle Harbor Apartments provides affordable homes for 36 families—families that can include graduates of The Elizabeth House.
